GRAND BAY
Grand Bay, often known as “La Côte d’Azur de l’Ile Maurice”, is situated on the north-west of the island, about 90 minutes drive from the airport. Paradise for entertainment and shopping, and the most tourist-oriented beach resort of Mauritius, it has an effervescent blend of lively entertainment venues, and crowds of tourists in restaurants all day. Night life is a bustle with nightclubs, pubs and casinos opened until dawn. Shopping is best at the top fashion boutiques of Sunset Boulevard. There are about 30 hotels in Grand Bay, the most well-known ones being Royal Palm, Mervilla, Le Mauricia and Veranda. At night, Grand Bay becomes more lively and the activities keep going right through the night until the early hours of the morning.
