RESORTS
Mauritius is well-known for its lovely beaches of soft white sand. Holiday accommodation are mostly self-catering and are situated all around the island. They include private beach-front villas and bungalows and also a few complexes with well-furnished apartments and studios.
The northern area includes Calodyne and Grand Gaube in the north-east, Cap Malheureux (the northern tip of the island), and on the western coast, Pereybere, Grand Bay, Pointe aux Canonniers, Mont Choisy and Trou aux Biches.
Flic-en-Flac, Tamarin, Black River, Case Noyale and Le Morne, are on the west coast, while Roches Noires, Poste La Fayette, Belle Mare and Trou d’Eau Douce are on the east coast.
Pointe d’Esny and Blue Bay are in the south east, near Mahebourg.

This seaside village on the west coast of the island is about 75 minutes drive from the airport. Its south part has white sandy beach while its northern part has high cliffs battered by rough seas.

GRAND BAY - North West
This bay of turquoise waters, often known as “La Côte d’Azur de l’Ile Maurice”, is on the north-west coast, about 90 minutes drive from the airport. It is the paradise for entertainment and shopping with an effervescent blend of lively entertainment venues nearby, and crowds of tourists in restaurants and pubs all day. Pomponnette is a very quiet area along the south coastal road between St Felix Beach (near Bel Ombre) & Riambel. It is about 1 hour drive from the airport. The scenic route linking Souillac to Le Morne is one of the most beautiful of Mauritius. The views over the turquoise waters of the sea are splendid.
